One Mile Of Metal Grating – Hood River-Salmon Interstate Bridge

by eric 4. August 2010 08:30

Forgotten entry the Hood River-Salmon Interstate Bridge; crossed this bridge a few weeks ago riding back from Oregon, it’s almost a mile long of metal grating. The grating grabs your front tire and pulls it in one direction and grabs your rear tire and pulls it in another direction, the crosswind on the bridge is strong and you will feel the blast, its not really hard just relax and go with it. I would not want to ride it in the rain and it’s a little disconcerting having cars on the opposite side with no barrier while you wiggle around. Looking down is a must if you can stomach it, the bridge is a toll bridge and it cost 50 cents to cross on a motorcycle.
